Once in a while.....

...in the middle of an ordinary life, love hands us a fairytale.

I don't think that I've written yet about the amazing man that will be marrying us exactly 8 months from today!

When Keith and I got engaged, we knew that we wanted to be married in a Catholic Church, but we weren't sure which one. Up until our engagement, going to church was never really something that we thought much about. Sure, we believed and considered ourselves spiritual people, but we just weren't that kind of go-to-church-every-Sunday kind of people. But of course, when we first called St. Patrick Parish, the first thing they told us was "go to Mass". In fact, the Deacon wouldn't even meet with us until after we had attended. He said "come to Mass this Sunday and then come find me after and we'll chat". So that Sunday, off to church we went. (It was literally a stone's throw from our house! Why had we not come before??) The Mass was beautiful and the church even more so. I knew instantly that this was the church I wanted to be married in. This was a parish that I wanted to be a part of.

We met with Deacon FD after that first Mass, and were even more convinced that not only was this the right church, but this was the right guy. He made us feel at ease, he was warm, loving, kind and down to earth. We booked our date that day and he sent us on our way.

About a month later, we had our second meeting with him. It was during this meeting when he asked us questions about our relationship, our upbringing, our family's involvement in our lives, ect. When he asked us how we met, he kind of paused and said "hold that thought, I'll be right back" and left the room. (Now for those of you who don't know, and I promise I will post about this at some point!! Keith and I met at a Dierks Bentley/Brad Paisley concert in June of 2009)  I looked at Keith, kind of perplexed, wondering what on earth he was going to do. And then a few minutes later he reappears in the room wearing a cowboy hat with the name "Brad Paisley" across the front.  And he says "I was at that same concert with my wife and daughters!" When I tell you I was speechless, I mean that my jaw was on the ground and my arms were covered in goosebumps. I absolutely could not believe it. I had always said that I felt that Keith and I were meant-to-be. It had to have been fate that we were at the same place, at the same time, at the right time in our lives for us to meet. And to find out that same night, somewhere in the crowd, was the man who would eventually marry us. It was more than fate. I truly believe that all the events in my life leading up that day, prepared me to meet the love of my life. I hope he feels that same. Kidding :)

Along the path of wedding planning, there has absolutely been some stressful, tense moments. But in our meetings with Deacon FD, we are reminded of why we are doing this and that our love is something that is truly meant to be celebrated. We are so blessed.
